Mellington Hall Country House Wedding Venue & hotel Wales Gardens and Grounds
The beauty of the Mellington Hall estate is beyond compare. Laid out in Victorian times by Joseph Paxton, there are countless aspects to inspire artists and photographers alike. Whatever the weather, there is so much for lovers of nature and the countryside to explore and appreciate.
Mature woodland is pleasingly distributed over the estate, and depending on the time of year, they are carpeted with snowdrops, aconites and bluebells. Surrounding the house, there are trees and shrubs that have attained magnificent growth over the years, including a splendid avenue of Scotch Firs. The garden has many features to enjoy including terraced and serpentine walks, shrubberies, lovely banks of Rhododendrons and level and sloping lawns to compliment the architecture of the building. There is also the romance of the Victorian 'lovers walk' which is a hidden bark trodden path lined with trees hundreds of years old. Look carefully and you may catch a glance of some carvings on the trunks which are the marks of lovers who have visited over the years.
After exploring the grounds the ideal spot to relax is beside the lake where the breeze blows gently through the bulrushes and the ducks might pay a visit hoping for a crust of bread. Enjoy the moment, as the Victorian house guests used to when the house and gardens were first completed.
