The property is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of the Welsh Borders. The view from Mellington Hall is almost unrivalled, extending from the Berwyn Range in North Powys to the famous Longmynd in Shropshire with the fine outline of Corndon in front, and a richly-wooded country in the vale below. The Mansion itself, as seen from many viewpoints presents a striking and pleasing picture forming a prominent feature in the landscape, having for a background its own pleasure grounds and park which we will examine later.
